On 50th year as Fan, Iconic Chacha Cricket Yearns for ‘Imran-Kapil Trophy’ at neutral venue

- The oldest charismatic fan celebrates golden jubilee of fandom, outpours his emotions on first Global recognition as Fan for Ind Vs Pak ties

"VAN" (Sports Desk) :: On the eve of Global Sports Fan Awards’19, a unique initiative to honor greatest Global Cricket Fans, Chacha Cricket aka Abdul Jalil expressed his wish for long awaited’ Imran-Kapil Trophy’. In a stint of 50 years, Chacha Cricket has seen generations coming & going on the pitches but his dream to witness the honor giving momentum match is still due.

With just few hours left for the greatest & first ever Global Sports Fan Awards that will honor five greatest fans from all around the world, Chacha Cricket, the most celebrated & oldest fan of Pakistan and the Global Sports Fan Gold medalist has expressed his wish to witness the unique Imran-Kapil Trophy between Pakistan & India in recognition & honour of the legendary duo. The tournament will not only honour the celebrated Captains of the most riveted team-match but will also take the ‘Border-Gavaskar’ legacy ahead.

Speaking exclusively during a documentary interview on Cricket Fans on the sidelines of Global Sports Fan Awards, Chacha Cricket resonated, “Over 50 years, 500 matches and countless memories, am very emotional to get my first Global Award as a Fan. This award will inspire a lot of upcoming fans from across the world. I personally feel two of the greatest World Cup winning Captains deserve to be immortalized via an annual bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan at a neutral venue that will keep the memories intact and young forever in the minds & hearts of fans”.

Explaining the importance of Global recognition through GSF Awards, the curator & filmmaker, Sunil Yash Kalra, echoes, ”The filming at the Cricket World Cup in England in severe conditions has been both challenging & gratifying. Fans like Chacha Cricket epitomizes a true reflection of an honest fan. In the docufilm, Chacha is a mix of statistician, expert commentator, weather expert and a classic fan with millions of his own fan following. He recollects countless tales, anecdotes and contextual match figures of India and Pakistan yet Tendulkar, Kapil and Navjot Singh Sidhu remains his most favorite Indian cricketer”.

Chacha Cricket is currently in Manchester, UK for Cricket World Cup 2019 where he expressed his fan stories and desires to documentarian & Global Sports Fan Awards Curator, Sunil Yash Kalra for a unique documentary on Cricket Fans. The documentary, that will weave hundreds of fan voices & reactions taken during the World Cup 2019 in UK, will be launched post the completion of World Cup. This is Sunil Yash Kalra’s second documentary after ‘Poor Cousins of Million Dollar Babies’ a critically acclaimed docudrama that is based on the Indian Women National Cricket Team. Currently on a fan spree, the Curator is vouching for special fan stories for the documentary.
