Renown Pakistani cricket fan Bashir Chacha hospitalized in Ahmedabad

Motera: Pakistani cricket team fan Bashir Chacha(68) who is known as Pakistani Chacha was hospitalized in the city after increase in his blood pressure at the Narendra Modi stadium here.

Bashir Chacha who is in Ahmedabad to support Pakistani team, felt uneasiness after the result of the India – Pakistan cricket match. He was initially treated by the 108 emergency ambulance team and later taken to private run SMS hospital where he was further treated. As per the latest update, Bashir Chacha’s health is normal now and he is fine.

Due to the crowding and hot weather today, not only Bashir chacha but couple of hundred other people also had to be treated by medical teams outside this over one-lakh capacity stadium which is the largest cricket stadium of the world.

Bashir Chacha was believed the only Pakistani team fan in the Stadium today. He was wearing a long kurta with Pakistani flag color on one side and Indian flag colors on other side. The words on his Kurta – ‘Ghareeb Nawaz Chicago’. And ‘Jis Desh Main Gangha Behti Hai Us Desh Ki Meri Biwi Hai.’

Mohammad Bashir has been in Ahmedabad for last two days to cheer the Pakistani team. He is Pakistan-born American citizen, settled in Chicago who travels across the world to support the Pakistani cricket team since over twenty years. From 2007 to now, he has gone to every venue where Pakistani team goes to play One Dai International world cup.

Fondly called as Bashir Chacha or Chicago Chacha, Bashir, a Pakistan-born settled in Chicago, has travelled across the globe to cheer for the Pakistan cricket team for almost two decades. From 2007 till 2023, he has not missed a single Men’s ODI World Cup cheering for the team wherever they are, including the Hyderabad leg of the ongoing tournament. DeshGujarat
