We love the Lamborghini Reventon as much as anyone. In fact, we think it’s one of the most remarkable low-volume cars ever made and, even 12 years after its launch, is still extremely desirable.

Apparently, someone in Russia felt the same way – and he went as far as building this Reventon replica on the underpinnings of a Mitsubishi GTO from 1991. Sadly, it is far from pretty.

The replica, currently listed for sale on Avito with 80,000 km under its belt, seems to be stock from a mechanical standpoint. The body, however, is a different story, and the car’s inspiration is clear.

Up front, the GTO features a fascia very similar to the Reventon, complete with triangular-shaped headlights and sharp air intakes. Owing to the more upright design of the GTO, the proportions are inaccurate and the custom bodywork won’t fool anyone.

The sides and rear are even worse. For starters, there are a set of cheap-looking five-spoke silver wheels and fake side air intakes that will leave you scratching your head. At the rear, you’ll find Reventon-inspired taillights and a rear diffuser – or something that looks like it anyway.

No images of the interior have been included in the listing, but it is probably identical to any other Mitsubishi GTO.

In case anyone is interested, the car is for sale and has an asking price of 600,000 Russian rubles, or almost $9700.
