Jessica Alba is coming to Netflix five years after her last feature film.
The streamer announced in a post on X this week that Alba will star in the Netflix original film Trigger Warning, which will debut on June 21.
The official description of Trigger Warning is as follows: “When a skilled Special Forces commando returns home to take over her family's bar, she soon finds herself at odds with a violent gang running rampant in her hometown.”
Alba will star in the lead role of Parker, who is the Special Forces commando. Netflix also announced that Mark Webber, Tone Bell, Jake Weary, Gabriel Basso and Anthony Michael Hall are also starring in the film.
Trigger Warning is directed by Mouly Surya.
Alba’s last film appearance came in the 2019 crime mystery Killers Anonymous, which also starred Tommy Flanagan, Gary Oldman and Suki Waterhouse.
After that, Alba starred opposite Gabrielle Union for two seasons in the Fox Television action crime comedy series L.A.’s Finest, from 2019-2020.
What Has Alba been up to?
Born on April 28, 1981, Jessica Alba kicked off her acting career in 1994 with a small role in the family movie Camp Nowhere.
Her breakthrough role came six years later as she played Max Guevera in Fox Television’s action series Dark Angel. Co-created by James Cameron, Dark Angel ran for two seasons from 2000 to 2002.
Before too long, Alba made a successful transition to feature films, where she starred in such hits as Sin City and Fantastic Four in 2005, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007 and Valentine’s Day and Machete in 2010.
In 2012, Alba became an entrepreneur when she co-founded The Honest Company to create safe and effective products for families. By 2015, Alba had built The Honest Company into a $1 billion company.
Alba continued to act while building her business, appearing in such hit films as Machete Kills in 2013, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in 2014 and the Entourage movie in 2015, where cameoed as herself.
After Killers Anonymous in 2019 Alba put her acting career on hold, apart from a guest turn on the Netflix kids’ series StoryBots Answer Time in 2023.
Trigger Warning is set to debut on Netflix on June 21.
