A war of words broke out between the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal over the issue of 'freebies' on Sunday.

Manohar Lal Khattar, while addressing the beneficiaries of one of the state government's schemes, said, "There are many parties that raise slogans like 'get this for free, get that for free'... Instead of inculcating the habit of freebies, our government's priority is to fulfil the needs of a working person, enhance his skills and develop him."

Free and 24 hours of electricity and water. We have started all these works in Punjab also. And the public is very happy with these facilities. Soon the people of Haryana will also get its benefits."

Later, Manohar Lal Khattar also made a rebuttal to the comments of Arvind Kejriwal and added, ""AAP" have got used to free food, Who can understand better than the ministers of "AAP" when the free food will run out.."

Notably, Haryaa is expected to go into Assembly polls in 2024.

The Aam Aadmi Party is also trying to make inroads in Haryana, which is largely dominated by the BJP and the Congress.

He also talked about a "door-to-door" campaign by the AAP workers in Haryana to connect with the people.
