CLEVER CONCEALED STORAGE

Clients are always looking for new ways to create hidden compartments and concealed storage solutions in their closets! One thing we often like to incorporate, depending on the level of security desired, is a safe for documents and valuables. Today, safes can be outfitted in all kinds of custom ways, with watch winders, interior drawers, and fireproof casings! Regardless of what you plan to store, it’s always a good idea to come up with a clever hiding spot. Maybe you’ll opt to keep the “real” safe elsewhere in the home, but these are a few favorite hiding spots to consider in a closet if you’re looking for an added layer of protection!

FALSE DRAWER FRONTS

This is a great solution if you’re trying to conceal a smaller hotel-sized safe for passports and documents, a hamper, or any kind of larger storage compartment. From the exterior, we can create a false panel that blends right in with a bank of drawers, or a false panel that appears like part of the millwork!

MIRRORS

Mirrors are another great way to create concealed storage in a closet! Whether for a safe or additional everyday storage, a mirror is an easy way to mask a hidden doorway while adding functionality!

HIDDEN PANELS

Often there are items in the closet our clients don’t love looking at! Maybe they just aren’t used frequently, or don’t fit the aesthetic while the client still needs them close at hand. I like to integrate hidden storage compartments behind seamless wall panels, such that when the cabinet is closed, it will disappear completely into the walls!

SAFE ROOMS

Some clients prefer to fireproof an entire space, in which case we often recommend a fully outfitted safe room! These rooms can be completely concealed so as not to become a target, and can be fully customized for any items you need to store and outfitted with all the creature comforts!

PULL-OUT CABINETS

Pull-out cabinets can also be a great way to conceal significant amounts of storage! On the face, the cabinet can be completely concealed as fluted millwork, or a part of the cabinet trim, yet at the touch of a button, you have access to a surprising amount of additional storage space.
