One of the number one demands for homeowners is more storage space. This need often requires the designer to get creative, using every inch of the home from alcoves to under the stairs for unique and often hidden storage options.

 

From hooks, sliding doors, hinges, slide out shelving and more, these designers are using some of the latest accessories on the market to increase storage space.

 

One company that is including hidden storage options into its product line is Wellborn Cabinet, located in Ashland, Alabama. The company showcased its Transitional Foyer design during the 2019 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), held earlier this year at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

 

Transitional style is often described as a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary furnishings and décor. A neutral color palette, simple focus, and textured materials were used to create the transitional style that everyone wants in their homes. 

 

Proper foyer decor can instantly make guests feel welcome, establish the spirit of the home and can also be a small space full of practical storage solutions. 

 

The designer for this product line kept a neutral and straightforward theme throughout this design while packing it with tons of storage solutions for busy families. This design of a transitional foyer incorporates storage for all the shoes, jackets and outdoor accessories. It can also be a showroom for the entire house with the open style foyer that provides glimpses towards the other rooms.

 

Too often, the entryway is where everyone in the family drops their belongings when they come home. Imagine a space where coats are hung. Where shoes are neatly stored, not flung. Also, where there’s loads of reserved parking space for car keys, bags, leashes, hats, mittens and anything else that’s left around. The clean lines and crisp edges are what define this foyer. Wellborn Cabinet’s Aspire full-access frameless line of cabinetry makes this transitional design come to life. The door style used in this foyer is Winslow in maple, finished in the newly launched Shale stain.

 

Behind these doors are natural hardwood dovetail drawers featuring an interlocking corner joint. The interior of the cabinetry is natural maple continuing the quality throughout the design. Push to Open technology was installed to all the cabinetry, for a soft open while also controlling the movement of the contents stored inside the cabinet.

 

The Hafele Loox lighting program was installed throughout the foyer cabinetry to add a dramatic impression.

Just because you plan to use your entryway, doesn’t mean it has to look cluttered or drab. For a busy family, a smartly organized entryway is crucial. There’s a place for everything with all the cabinet shelves. To control the chaos, the first three cabinet doors have deep sliding shelves with soft close mechanisms behind them. These sliding shelves can store backpacks, outerwear, toys and puzzles. The three bottom drawers are a great place for storing shoes or anything that should be kept away from significant items.

Behind the two tall cabinet doors is a larger organizational solution for the entire family. Along the top of this cabinet, are acrylic shelf dividers for items that might not get used every day but certainly need to stay within arm’s reach. Below the acrylic shelving, there are eight satin nickel hooks for coats or jackets. In addition to all the storage in this one unit of cabinetry, there is a scarf rack and a belt rack installed onto the sides.

Beneath the built-in coat closet is a wire pullout basket. This pullout is perfect for hats, gloves, and other small clothing.

Even the smallest details can make the most significant difference. To complete the look of this transitional foyer, there are applied doors on the last tall cabinet and the back side of the staircase. Applied doors continue the clean look throughout the entire entryway. Along the top of the cabinets is a wainscot cap moulding and a furniture base moulding along the bottom of the foyer introduces the cabinetry into the room. On the back side of the stairway is a beautiful display of high wall open shelving which is illuminated phenomenally.
